I attended parochial school as a young boy. Holy Rosary in Duluth. I attended mass weekly and became an alter boy. It’s what one does being apart of school and church. I would sit in mass taking everything in. Down to the incenses. I was enamored, hooked if you will. Stations of the cross being my favorite. Mother Mary becoming my ideal Saint and representation of “mother/son” relationship. I could so relate as I thought, and still do, that my mother is loved and adored by me and was the maternal essence I could compare to.
